Graduates are able to - select suitable aids for problems in the everyday lives of occupational therapy clients. - systematically search for available aids. - prepare letters of justification for the assumption of costs for urgently required aids. - explain the basic use of wheelchairs and the most common assistive devices (for basic ADLs). - make an occupational therapy recommendation for the provision of wheelchairs for clients using a wheelchair questionnaire.

They acquire a holistic view of the human organism and are proficient in biomedical systematics and terminology. They understand the morphological and functional relationships of the healthy body and the development of diseases and can explain these and the basics of neuroanatomy. Graduates are able to recognize life-threatening conditions and provide appropriate first aid. They know about the mechanisms of the spread of infectious diseases and take the necessary precautions when dealing with clients to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. The starting point can be didactically targeted case descriptions, practical reports from students as well as films, texts and the like.
