Study content and focus areas
Your first year of studies at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences will be devoted to understanding and responding. Bridging people, nature, and the environment, you will gain comprehensive expertise in intelligent buildings and smart cities.
The second year of studies will give you the competence to act in the field of complex urban planning, expanding your knowledge.
In the second part of your Master's degree, you will choose one of two main areas:
- Integrated energy systems– renewable energy systems, storage technologies, and smart grids; networking all consumer structures in a city
- Building and neighbourhood renewal– energetic building and neighbourhood renovation; technical, demographic, economic, urban, and economic issues
Practical relevance and semester abroad
Due to its part-time structure, our course of study offers an extremely practice-oriented approach. In parallel with your apprenticeship, you can implement what you learn in your working life.
You will also gain experience during a semester abroad. In your third or fourth semester, you have the opportunity to study at one of our international partner universities, allowing you to gain valuable intercultural expertise, getting to know new perspectives in smart cities.
