The retail industry is a key sector of the economy and makes a significant contribution to regional value creation. A shortage of skilled labour, climate change and increasing cost and efficiency pressure are presenting the retail sector with new challenges and accelerating the need for technical innovations. As a result, there is an urgent need for experts who can act as an interface between engineers and business people and thus drive sustainable, economic, social and ecological development in the retail sector.
