The Master's degree programme in Industrial Informatics & Robotics is based on a sound engineering education with the option of an individual focus. During your studies, you will therefore acquire an in-depth understanding of the applications of computer science and information technologies, software and systems engineering as well as mechatronics and robotics in an industrial environment or for the implementation of smart everyday systems. The specialist skills you acquire will become the driving force behind efficient, networked and intelligent innovations. You will contribute your own ideas in project work under the guidance of coaches, develop sustainable solutions and present them in portfolios and presentations. Interdisciplinary collaboration, agile approaches and fact- and target group-oriented communication are emphasized and qualify you for leading positions in industry and business.
We pay particular attention to the following three key areas during the course:
- Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things
- Cyberphysical Systems & Smart Factory
- Space for networking
Content Focus
Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things
You can expect exciting, forward-looking course content that fits seamlessly into the era of Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things. This is about much more than just technology - we will give you a deep understanding of the industrial landscape of tomorrow and the smart systems that will shape our everyday lives. The course focuses on three core areas: Computer Science & Information Technologies, Software & Systems Engineering and Mechatronics & Robotics. These focus areas not only immerse you in the world of codes and algorithms, but also teach you how to design and optimize complex systems. From the development of innovative software to the implementation of state-of-the-art robotics solutions - with us you will acquire the specialist skills you need in a rapidly developing industry.
Cyberphysical Systems & Smart Factory
Experience practical application at first hand: during your studies, you will test your acquired knowledge in specialized laboratories and gain your first insights into cyber-physical systems. In our Smart Factory Lab, you will experience first-hand how our researchers continuously integrate the latest innovations. With a personal coach at your side, you will deepen your specialist knowledge as part of a practical project focusing on one of the key areas of Computer Science & Information Technologies, Software & Systems Engineering or Mechatronics & Robotics. You present the results professionally in a portfolio that you can use beyond your studies. The Master's thesis offers a further individualization option, in which you can specialize further in one of the core areas or build on your practical project. Be ready to deepen your skills, expand your knowledge and prepare for a future in which you can prove yourself both in technical implementation and in managerial positions - all as part of the degree that will take you further up the career ladder.
Space for networking
We offer you numerous networking opportunities during your studies: Two Josef Ressel Centers and the Research Campus Schloss Urstein in cooperation with companies enable you to launch your scientific career. At the Reading Group, you can be inspired by specialist lectures from industry and business or keep up to date at the bi-annual RoboticsTalks in cooperation with the Austrian Society for Measurement, Automation & Robotics - become part of an inspiring community and help shape a sustainable technological landscape.
