Ethics & Sustainability is a cross-university interdisciplinary symposium at the start of the 2024/25 winter semester exclusively for students at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences.
On 18 and 19 October 2024, the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences will host the interdisciplinary symposium ‘Ethics & Sustainability’ for the 16th time. The aim of the annual symposium is to encourage the approximately 400 Master's students in their first semester and other interested participants to actively engage with the two conflicting fields of ethics and sustainability across their respective subjects. This year's overarching theme is ‘Equality, Equity and Justice - How much equality is just?’. With the central theme of ‘Justice’, the symposium aims to develop a deeper understanding of the complexity of issues of fairness in various dimensions, especially in the dimension of gender justice. Through a series of keynotes and interactive sessions, participants will be invited to critically scrutinise existing structures of institutional power and engage in constructive discussions about breaking down barriers.
