Work-life balance
Salzburg University of Applied Sciences offers a family-friendly work and learning environment. In Summer 2016, Salzburg University of Applied Sciences was successfully reaudited for the Austrian "hochschuleundfamilie" (university and family) standard. The measures were developed jointly by staff and students.
Gender and diversity management
In 2016, Salzburg University of Applied Sciences was the first Austrian university to receive the ZukunftVIELFALT® diversity certificate. The measures were developed jointly by staff and students.
Workplace health management
Workplace health management at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences comprises health and safety at work, workplace health promotion and integration management. Events are held as part of the university’s workplace health commitments, sometimes in partnership with other organisations. Salzburg University of Applied Sciences is a member of the Austrian Network of Health-Promoting Universities and has held the Quality Seal for Workplace Health Promotion (Gütesiegel für Betriebliche Gesundheitsförderung – BGF) since 2015.
Measures for conserving resources
For a number of years, there has been a particular focus at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences on measures for increasing energy efficiency. In 2014, Salzburg University of Applied Sciences was made a "klimaaktiv" partner by the Austrian Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (MAFEWM) for its work in this area. The university's energy efficiency measures include exclusive use of LED technology for exterior lighting, a charging station for electric cars and installing a solar power system.
