Kathrin Frey comes from Reutlingen near Stuttgart and is a trained carpenter. After completing her DPM Bachelor's degree, she was the very first student to graduate from the newly founded DPM Master's program in September 2011 with the topic "Future Sales", which dealt with sales innovations using virtual reality at the Daimler-Benz automotive group.
She then joined Miele (Salzburg) as a product manager, where she was responsible for marketing planning and setting up the online store. In May 2013, she moved to Munich to work for the software company "3DEXCITE", where she advised all customers in the automotive industry and consumer goods segment on solutions for the development and marketing of 3D visualizations, virtual showrooms and online configurators. Since February 2016, she has been responsible for the areas of "Leadership & Change" at the family-run management consultancy "Kienbaum Consultants International" in the "Empowerment & Acceleration" division. She advises numerous companies and public institutions across all sectors on topics such as cultural change, transformation, (virtual) employee management (in the home office), change communication and employer branding. Since the coronavirus pandemic, projects involving issues relating to "purpose" have also become increasingly important.
The young mother has also been working in Kuchl again since 2019. She was recruited as a lecturer for the highly sought-after application training (student title "Pimp my CV") in the Master's program.
She says about DPM: "We were really trained to be versatile "egg-laying woolly mammals", which is very much appreciated by companies. Our entrepreneurial thinking was in demand from the very first semester, which incredibly encouraged our creativity and independence. I also think the location in Kuchl and the opportunities abroad at DPM are still extremely cool. I spent a semester abroad in Helsinki (Finland) and went on excursions to Istanbul and China. I am still in regular contact with many of my former fellow students. We are looking forward to the next DPM reunion in Kuchl - when the situation finally allows it again!"
