The CHE ranking is considered the most comprehensive evaluation procedure for degree programmes in the German-speaking world. The new ranking for the Bachelor's degree programmes has now been presented and shows the outstanding quality of education in the Wood Technology & Timber Construction degree programme at the Kuchl Campus of the FH Salzburg.
Choosing the right degree programme is not an easy decision. An important guide to finding the study programme of your choice is the established ranking of the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE), which compares study programmes on the basis of student surveys and general information. In the recently presented ranking for 2022, the Bachelor's degree programme Wood Technology & Timber Construction at the FH Salzburg received an excellent rating.
Excellent rating from the students' point of view
Whether it is the range of courses, the relation to practice or the equipment: the approximately 180 Bachelor students in the Wood Technology and Timber Construction degree programme are currently satisfied with their studies to an above-average degree. In comparison with other study programmes in the field of civil and environmental engineering in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the study programme landed in the top group for almost every criterion; all criteria were rated very good.
With a grade of 1.5, the breadth of the courses offered as well as the possibilities for individual specialisation were particularly emphasised. The support provided by the lecturers as well as the organisation of the study programme were rated 1.4 and 1.3 respectively, and the relation to practice also landed in the top group with a grade of 1.3. The latter is particularly evident in the final theses: almost two thirds of the graduates write their Bachelor's thesis together with a company.
