The final event of the Erasmus+ project ‘Bridging the Social’ took place in Belgium on 13 January 2025. As part of the event, the project results were presented to around 150 stakeholders and then discussed in workshops.

A key outcome of the project is the web platform, which is intended to help promote European labour mobility in the field of social innovation. This platform gives employers the opportunity to offer international internships in Romania, France, Belgium and Austria. Students and graduates from the participating universities can upload their CVs and search requests to take advantage of career opportunities across national borders.
In addition, the project has established a long-term Erasmus cooperation between the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and the Belgian partner university. In future, this will enable students to complete short-term mobilities or an Erasmus semester in Belgium during their studies. In this context, an international summer school will once again be organised this year to further strengthen interdisciplinary exchange.
Another important result of the project is the common European definition of social innovation, which is based on Markus Pausch's typology. This served as an orientation aid in the project in order to create a standardised understanding of social innovation in the participating countries.
The successful conclusion of ‘Bridging the Social’ has created a sustainable basis for international cooperation and innovative educational approaches in the social sector. The structures and partnerships developed will help to further network the European labour market for social professions and optimally prepare future professionals for international challenges.
