The National Assembly of Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Austria took place on Campus Kuchl for the first time in history. From June 9th to 11th a group of 40 students who represent ESN Austria met at FH Salzburg for their yearly meeting.
ESN is one of the largest student organizations in Europe, funded by the European Union, dedicated to supporting and enriching the experience of international exchange students. The organization operates in various cities and universities across Europe, providing a wide range of services, events, and activities to help students make the most of their study abroad journey.
ESN members, who are mostly local students volunteering their time, organize a diverse range of activities such as city tours, language exchange programs, cultural events, parties, and trips. At FH Salzburg, Ece Arslan (Master student Design & Product Management) and Tabea Kandlbauer (Physiotherapy) are active ESN members. Together, they planned and organized the 3-day meeting. Volunteers from all around Austria came together to discuss how ESN Austria can improve their activities in terms of fostering friendships and encouraging intercultural dialogue. During her welcome speech Ulrike Szigeti, ViceRector at FH Salzburg and International Academic Advisor, encouraged the students to work on guidelines that could support International Office staff and everyone involved in internationalization: “We want to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for international students at Austrian universities.”
Ece and Tabea want the ESN to grow at FHS, so student volunteers are most welcome to contact them and join the network!
