The students were particularly impressed by the start-up culture, in which communities are organized democratically and cooperation is practiced. It can't be said, that start-ups have it any easier in Israel than in Austria, but it is this particular spirit that drives many young entrepreneurs.
The range of topics is remarkable - from green tech to mobility to health and cybersecurity, all of them where represented in the visited companies such as Checkmarx, Moovit, Binah, Dizengoff Center, and iCan. A visit to the Holon Institute of Technology, a partner university of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, was also on the agenda. The trip culminated with a tour of Jerusalem and a visit to Kibbuz Sha’ar HaGolan, where excursionists immersed themselves in Middle Eastern culture at the end of the trip.
