The EU project FOODIS aims to counteract food waste and thus generate added value for the region of Carinthia and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The main objective of FOODIS is to create a collaborative, cross-border ecosystem to create the smart, sustainable and inclusive transition of the agri-food value chains. By means of joint advisory services, expertise and modern logistics structures, companies in both regions are to be supported in operating across borders and thus gaining access to new European markets. The project also aims to create an agricultural and food network in Carinthia as a counterpart to the successful AgriFood Cluster in Friuli.
The planned ecosystem will be tested as part of the project through two pilot actions and will be geared towards supporting sustainable and fair trade supply chains.
Salzburg University of Applied Science is supporting the project as an associated partner.
