Approval of an Academic Writing Center at the Salzburg University of Applied Science: The two initiators of the Academic Writing Center (AWC), Ute Giacomozzi and Stefanie Wallinger from the Department of Business & Tourism, are pleased about the approval of their project and the funding from the Salzburg University of Applied Science Future Fund.
The Future Fund of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences is committed to the further development of study programs and courses. Particular attention is paid to measures in the areas of eLearning/blended learning, interdisciplinarity and innovative teaching, which are not limited to one degree program, but have an impact across several degree programs.
The Academic Writing Center (AWC) acts as an interdisciplinary hub for students, lecturers, supervisors of academic papers and researchers. As a point of contact during the entire writing process in German and English, the center provides support through a variety of analog and digital formats and thus offers a valuable addition to the academic courses at the FH Salzburg. In the future, students will be offered individual consultations, workshops, training materials and writing events.
"Over the next two years, we will work intensively on implementing the project with the aim of creating a sustainable and long-term contact point for anyone interested in writing," explain Ute Giacomozzi and Stefanie Wallinger.
The AWC plans to be active not only during the funding phase, but also to make a contribution to the promotion of academic writing skills at the FH Salzburg. By integrating different formats and taking into account individual needs in different writing phases, the AWC aims to make a sustainable contribution to academic education.
